Two Diode Full Wave Rectifier Circuit
learned this from the net. I saved a bunch of little gadgets over the years from power supplies, circuit boards, etc.
I had a vow to learn uses for them.

knowing jack squat about the diode rectifier stuff. I found on the net how to use one. don’t laugh a the ground being one half of the full wave length. I was melting half wave diodes off the relay…
so, soldered tis up as an experiment, heatsink gets warm..nothing melted solder. this will further put the mystery of intake heater into its own world on its own wave length. I have not put a screw in yet for the diode, and will be. I crazy glued it to this heatsink that came off an ide chip off one of my old computers. it all fits in the box neatly. Future will tell if this gets too warm. I only checked it for a couple of minutes. of course, this gives intake heater full power again, and will be getting to that problem with a potentiometer.
not that this makes sense to look at, but red wire goes to intake heater in the engine bay.
installed this morning, snow is falling lightly..
quite chilly.
this did the trick. An awesome thing to notice is that the bridge of double diode chops amps in half at the alternator, all while getting full amps to the heater. A big load drop, while full power. heatsink gets warmed of course, but no sign of too warm.
A resistor, thermal switch..possibly potentiometer. call that chore complete.
exhaust calmed right down..maybe 3 minutes if that. I then hopped over the river to another garage where a honda was pullng out with a motorcycle sound a bit like my old sube.
got another appointment, lets just hope not to be over-analyzed.
