I have no explanation for the pink color on the springs - that's how they came.... when we paint the underside of the car, engine comparment and trunk- most of the pink will be covered..... probably with cheap gray tractor enamel.
ya know Bob, I've run over a honda on my bike; been down with the flu once; sent a car to NY; and been a runner from a bloodhound more times then is healthy.... and the Corvette is on the road. I know, you got bumped by a car, and while the excuses run wild (and to anyone but a Californian, it'd be merely a flesh wound) - last I checked your Mustang continued to be pro-jackstand. So laugh at my flashy 70s style all you wish, because I'll be driving in a Corvette
I'm pretty convinced that these things are all made by the same folks and then branded by whomever. To my knowledge they all use the same Golf GTI turbo sensor.
I've purchased Innovate branded units and had no problems with them. AEM comes with a decent reputation also.
with the plugs as easy to get to, run up to McConnell and go "Hey, what's this thing tell you" then pay real close attention. Probably will cost you a beer at some point I'm guessing.
You can get a sensor that is either a Bosch or a NTK. I think the consensus is that the NTK is more accurate, but its certainly more expensive. I've alway used the Bosch and certainly haven't had any problems.
Sounds like before long we are going to be hearing the thundering wings of a Falcon. Fly birdy fly.

Rack is mounted - took a lot of fenagling and test fitting, but it's in there, it's spaced out from the cross member one inch and angled, we were able to get the steering shaft and u-joints set on the first try - with 9" of shaft.
Steering column is in - looks like it's supposed to be there - I guesstimated right with the shaft length - we used part of a 2" exhaust pipe and an exhaust clamp to mount it to a bracket welded to the frame.
The falcon steering wheel won't work without a bunch of work - so - I pulled the old supreme 500 steering wheel out of the jc whitney box I purchased so long ago it still has my parents old address on it.... and the adaptor kit fit the new column! WIN! So the car will have the classic foam gripped three spoke / three hole wheel.
All the little holes in the floors are patched, the floors are all wire brushed and almost ready for primer / por15.
Shock tower holes are filled.
Radiator top bracket is made, fan shroud is started.
Cold air products heater/ac/defrost box has been fitted under the dash. The old blower motor hole and heater hose holes are filled, along with every other hole we didn't have a need for in the firewall - all welded shut. We had to beat the hell out of the bottom of the cowl to make room for the hvac box - since we made the trans tunnel so much bigger than stock, the box had to move up.
Trans tunnel is completely formed to the firewall.
Driver side fender is changed in favor of the swap meet special I picked up in April that has far fewer dents than the one we started with.
So far this project has killed two harbor frieght $9 electric grinders..... darn near started one on fire Saturday cleaning the floors with the cupped wire wheel - which came completely apart - and it was a good one - is there a low speed grinder for wire wheels?
I'm considering just brushing on the paint on the interior floors - not going to see it under the carpet anyway.
