you've completely gutted, resuspended, repowered, and repainted your car. You can't measure for 2 pieces of aluminum rod and drill a hole in the middle of them? Oh John, this is the moment when Ford thinking took over - I'm so sorry for you and your loss of abilityOriginally posted by milner351 View PostI think that is why the crites kit comes with aluminum bushings for the frame side ---- anybody got a source for aluminum bushings?

If you're going to use a solid bushing, you might as well, just weld plates on both sides of the frame rail and just drill a hole for the bolt!
Or drill a big hole and weld a piston pin in there.Last edited by BBR; August 2, 2012, 01:46 PM.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

How about Delum bushings? I think it would be a little more forgiving then the aluminum. Nice job on the brackets! The road race guys play with the front bushings to increase anti roll characteristics.TomOverdrive is overrated

Urethane, Delum, Delrin would be a good option, I think Energy suspension makes them for Gen 1 mustangs - which I'd have to trim to fit since they have 2.5" springs and mine are only 2" - no biggie.
Here's what NPD has in stock since they're just up the road....
what's "Midolyne"???

The bolt is 9/16" the OD of the busing / ID of the frame tube, I'd have to measure.Last edited by milner351; August 3, 2012, 07:11 AM.There's always something new to learn.Comment

Those offset shackles look good. I've often wondered about doing that on the 68 Coupe I have to allow use of the mini-tub I did w/o going to a coil over setup. I just didn't have a clear idea of how to do it. Thanks for the pix.Rich

I'm not anywhere near as far along as I'd like to be, but I'm doing my best.... the car will be no where near "done" for DW, but I hope it will be atleast as reliable as it will be ugly. There's always something new to learn.Comment
