Hmm, not to get off track, you've had issues with O'Reilly's?? My interaction with them is probably not as much as yours (don't have them here in Virginia, but I used them when I was stationed in Ohio), but they've always done right by me. In some cases, they were the only one that had the part I was looking for.

It's not that you know what's true, it's that you know what you had to do to make a profit for your store. I'm coming from the other direction, my goal in life isn't making profit for your store. It's keeping the seven cars we have on the road running for a reasonable cost, so we can drive and enjoy them. They all get just as much battery as they need....as often as the need it... and it works out to $10/yr at current WalMart prices.

They stiffed me on a tractor battery because I didn't have any paperwork.

I buy other parts from them and applaud their support for grassroots motorsports. I just won't buy a battery from them. I will say that they don't train their counterpersons adequately (which can be entertaining when they're running through all the Triad questions . . . e.g. "Does your SVT Cobra have a V6 or the single overhead cam 4.6?")

Dude, I didn't rip folks off for a profit! (okay, maybe when I sold 'em the three dollar rubber valve stems (with the cheap chrome caps and collars) that cost wholesale about 25-cents, or I included the cost of road hazard warranties in the "best" price quote without breaking out all the charges ala kart . . . but not on batteries)

My new (2010) Suburban has a GM battery and so far so good, it's just over a year old. In my Camaro I always have an Optima red top. In our other cars I prefer the Costco batteries because they have a long warranty.
