Jay Cermak with his GT 500, he brought our cars out for three different years and pedaled the rental Shelby GT in '07. Not he needs to bring his own ride or the one he's been working on with his son.
Or Courtney Force.
Drag Week 2006 & 2012 - Winner Street Race Big Block Naturally Aspirated - R/U 2007 Broke DW '05 and Drag Weekend '15 Coincidence?
Here's my top 10 list of cars I would like to see participate on DW 2012
1. Tony Nesbitt and Billy Adams in Billy's first gen Camaro. Both have threatened to do it... I think it would be hella cool to see them drive in an NMCA Super Street 10.5 car on drag week.
2. Rod Saboury. Talk is cheap
3. Greg Zoetmulder with his 8-second Jeep CJ-5. Greg is one of those guys who "gets it." He would be a natural in DW 2012
4. Paul Ferruci. Paul's Pink 80 Malibu is one of the baddest stock suspension small block cars in the country. With FOUR NMCA True Street titles to his credit, the low, low, low 8-second Chevy is more than capable of holding its own. Paul is also quite the character and would add to the DW spice.
5. James Foldenauer. James is the original bad boy in the ride-n-drive racing scene. Rules were made specifically to disallow Foldenauer's big block Monza from competition. He would be a heavy hitter in the PA/ProStreet category
6. Darrel Goheen. For those of you outside NHRA Div 5, you may not know Darrel. He is twice a national champion in the Sportsman category and has won the Div 5 Sportsman title three years in a row. His 1967 Chevelle would be a serious contender in the DD category and his wit, humor and willingness to help others would be welcomed on DW.
7. Josh Brohaugh. Josh's 1967 Mustang currently resides in my garage with a blown up 351 Cleveland. It needs a sleeve and a piston to get the engine running again. It will also need a set of tires and a HUGE supply of gas to do it, but man, this car would be PERFECT for DW! It is one of the most fun cars I have ever had the pleasure of driving.
8. Richard Ehrenberg. E-booger's Valiant was originally built to compete in the One Lap of America race, but I think it would work well in the DD category or even in the SB/NA class. It would also give the guys at Mopar Action (including Cliff Gromer) more ammunition against those fellows at PHR....
9. Johnny Hunkins. Let's see Johnny behind the wheel of his beloved (and once fearsome) Project X 1957 Chevy. It would be great to see the PHR poster child out doing what it once did proudly: pounding the quarter mile. Put it in daily driver and let it compete against Gromer and E-booger.
10. Rob Kinnan. Yep, I wanna see ol' Rob driving the GM Performance Parts LS-powered Solstice. I know it would be a nightmare of red tape to cut through, but after seeing the look on Rob's face when he described driving that potent little two-seater, I think Rob needs to do it again.

It's really no different than trying to glue them back on after she has her way.

I'd just like my engine builder to come with me next year. He put alot more time into my junk than I did. But with his current "Full-time" job, I doubt he would ever have time.

Josh Brohaugh and Mike Crow showed up at my place last night. Mike picked up the Cleveland for the Mustang and took it to the machine shop. Good news: the machinist believes the piston we thought to be toast may be ok. Time for a sleeve and some other small repairs and this thing should be back up and running shortly. Now we have to get busy on the rest of the car. It's gonna need a roll bar and some other goodies, so stay tuned...
