It is getting wrote off as faulty boost gauge. I took a short drive today and everything seems okay. It comes in to power strong flutters when you let off and seems to be ok. No more gas leaks. I do have a exhaust leak though its pretty bad. Had to make room to fix a bad line. It will probably get a glass pack.

Now just to figure out why the elec fans are not working??
Running total--$521.32 (not bad for a donor turbo motor, tranny, rearend, disk brakes, seats, rims for a futur conv. Mustang project)

They sell vacuum/boost gauges at your local auto parts store, you could hook one up and and see what kind of boost your getting.

And I'm not talking about an Autometer type gauge, I'm talking like a test type gauge like this one.......

You just got to love it when you get a smoking deal because the gauge was bad........

It's like the loose converter bolt being mistaken as a rod knock, I have a few friends that have gotten cars cheap because of that.......

i think the reason it was down on power for the previuse owner was the fuel leak. the guage just happend to not work at the same time

            awsome deal

I too believe it was down on power due to 2 fuel leaks on the high psi sending fuel lines. There is now way it could have been getting enough fuel. I will get a gauge and check it out. I hope that the cooling issue is a simple fix as well. I think I might flush the system anyway as it has been sitting for a while.

Great deal, hopefully the cooling fan issue is another simple fix.

Go check out Turboford.org, it looks like youll get a lot more info there than here. The site is dedicated to the turbo 2.3 engine after all.

I like that my Pinto doesnt get to full boost until 4000 rpm with the stock wheels. Its fun to have the other car get out front then drive by them. Many think the car has nitrous instead of a turbo.
