still in same boat, starts great cold, nothing when hot. Ford solenoid is something I had already planned and guess its time. Crossing out the solenoid will test the ign wire, right?

Looks just right to me in that pic-I'd leave it alone. (and I lower everything)

Keep it level. They drive like crap with rake-especially with staggered tires.

One thing to take into account is that you live in a rural area. Lots of dirt roads. Lowered cars and rough roads suck. If I still lived in Nebraska, my Impala would have more more road clearance.

Start with 1 inch and go down from there. Moog 5660 springs and trim as necessary.

                    Things done:
                    5lbs unneeded wires cut out
                    650 4150 added
                    new plugs r45ts
                    new 8.5 msd street wires

Things left to do i.e. questions:
New fuel line in the mail. The chrome fuel line piece leaks like crazy, Wires will lay down better once fuel line is moved.
put electric choke off 4160 on this carb? Where does vacuum line on choke route to on a 4150
does the vacuum globe on the heater box need hooked to vacuum
Put wider valve cover spreader bars/tabs to try stop leaks
                    Connect oil pressure gauge
change Header gaskets/repaint headers while off.
                    Trans cooler
                    gears
                    shocks.

While im rambling, The carb wouldn't clear the vacuum hook up on the intake under the back of the carb, I know most people have this problem, no where in town had a spacer in stock (yes small town and far away at that). I had a few 3/4" holley to quadrajet spacers, and bolted on one straight up. The bottom of the spacer fits the intake well but necks outward on the carb side, How much if anything will this hurt? I have an open 1/2" spacer on the way, but not sure if it'll fit with just a half.

The vacuum port for 4150's is on the metering block, if ported, or under front fuel bowl if manifold vacuum.

The vacuum globe on the firewall is for your AC/heater system. If you want your heater to work, connect it.

Make sure you are not over tightening the valve cover bolts and bending the valve cover, cutting into the gasket. When you have them off, check the gasket rail. Tap them back into shape, flat, with the round end of a ball peen hammer. Stop using your big biceps to tighten the bolts.

Yes, those chrome fuel logs suck.

VHT high temp header paint works great. Stick the spray can in a bucket of hot water for a few minutes before painting. Helps paint to stick. Then fire up car. Run 10 to 15 minutes, then let the exhaust to completely cool a couple times to get paint to cure.

The one thing I hate about Edelbrock intakes. That vacuum port is always in the way. You could put a plug in it, then use the big vacuum port on the back of the carb. Use a T fitting, ones side to brakes, one side to trans.

My nailhead had that arrangement factory off of the back of the AFB. Big screw in 'T' that had hardline all the way down to the trans modulator and a hardline that got over the valve cover and then a hose to the brake booster.

I got the pvc hooked to the carb. Ill remember that on the header paint. This car had hard line going to modulator also, and booster. Does the choke need full vacuum.

I used to have brakes and trans connected to back of carb. What do you need the pcv for?

Why does the choke need a vacuum line?
