This is my 1976 Dodge Aspen. I got it for $200 with 19 701 miles on the clock, Unfortunetly, it was an old lady that owned it for the majority of its life, and had been hit on every corner, BUT it was rust free, and a two door, what more can you ask for when your 15?
The car was a slant six, suto car when we found it. My Dad found the car just down the street from his engine building shop (Joss Technical). We referred to the car color as "Refridgerator White" and it drove me nuts how old ladyish they thing looked like, so with some help of a racer friend, I aquired a six pack scoop, and at the time I worked for a decal shop, so the stripes were freebee's as well. A few cans of paint, tin snips, and a head ache later, the car had a bit of a better look to it.

Dad had picked up a 1970 340 from a duster in the mid 70's and had packed it around, knowing that when he had a son, we would do a small block mopar car for a project
The 340 ended up working well for us, it was a "J" Iron headed engine that we used a forged piston stock rod, and a stock crank to make up the bottom end. We used a solid flat tappet cam, another freebee from a friend, we don't know what make it was but it was in the 540/560 lift range, and 250/255 @ .050" with a 110 LSA. The car ended up running a 12.32@111mph with full interior, and 3 inch exhaust with dumps.
In 2006 when I was in my first year of college, one of my buddies in high school needed a project car for the autobody class, and his car needed to much work to do in one semester, so I volenteered my car! We ended up painting it "Storm Front Grey" and kept the same paint sceme.

In 2007, I missed the race season because we were putting together a new bullet for the car, and were waiting 7 WEEKS for a set of custom pistons. The engine is now a 434ci. small block built out of a 318ci block. Looks like it should be a good year of racing, the 434ci still wears the "J" heads for now. We would like to find the max potential of these cylinder heads before we move on. I have a set of W5 heads that I found in November that we will probably test with next year. The engine is run on pump gas, and has no power adders, so we have some obsticals in our way, esspecially with the stock heads on it :D We have planned to make some decent power with this engine, and we didn't like the looks of the main cap girdles offered on the market, so we started building our own. It is a 1/2" steel piece, that connects to all the main cap bolts, none of the other girdles incorperate all the main studs, and they use shims. The experimental on is in this engine.

Thats it for now, I will look for some older pictures, and some body work pictures in the next couple days.
