    Want 3.23 or 3.42 gear set for a GM 8.5 rear.

    Looking to bump my rear gears up some. Currently 3.08 gears. As usual going for cheap. What have you guys got out there? New or used, as long as they are in good shape. Thanks.

    Thanks. I've been quietly watching for a couple years. I followed your signature link from CC forum over here.
    I think you'll like the 3.42s. I just changed to 3.73s and a posi unit in my truck and it really woke it up over stock gearing while raising the cruise rpm by only 200+/-rpm. From my own research, you should see roughly the same change going from 3.08 to 3.42.

    Cool! I ran 3.70's for a year before switching to the 3.08's. Now going for middle ground
