Volt versus Prius in Norway..American power looses..

Okay..i just read that the Chevy Volt wont get any lower import taxes,like the Toyota Prius have got.It just falls into the same rules that have nearly stopped import of all new american cars and trucks here in Norway..We had the old rules of importing a truck that was over 7000 pounds,which made the truck a truck..and not a lighter duty one..this was very popular over here..

But we lost that rule in 2006,and the bed have now to be some inches wider and longer than the american trucks ones to be classified as a true truck..

And now this scenario with the Volt..

If you guys and gals wonder why the american cars arent popular in the export markets..they are being pushed outside,while the japanese and european cars doesnt meet any problems in the US.

If you can't compete - tariff. However, I suspect by the time the Volt is satisfying current orders; that prohibition will be dropped...
