    There was a similar HRM article about late-model Mustang and mod motors a short while ago -- it didn't paint a very flattering picture either.

      uh, how about we take a bone stco muscle car for "the day" make the engine make 600hp then see what else breaks...I bet they were so awesome that they would take up to 1000hp before something broke :D

          God knows I tried to break the 7.5 in the El Camino for over three years before putting it away in the barn last summer. Contrary to accepted wisdom, the little bastage just wouldn't give up, not with street tires nor with drag radials. Haven't been beating the absolute snot out of itwith big burnouts and high-RPM launches, but consistently cutting passes in the high-12s. I dunno, I guess there's an exception to every rule???

              Gotta wonder as Fiat begins selling their own cars in their Chrysler showrooms,

              how much longer until they drop the Chrysler line entirely? ???
