Never hooked one up before - you've seen the picture of the button on the steering wheel, and now I have the expandy cord (technical term).... so what things will I say "d'oh" about if I hook it up without asking advice first?

Re: Roll control - what do I need to know
Two questions to ponder.
1) do you install it so it holds pressure to the front brakes after you pushed the pedal down as hard as possible and then release after you engage the roll control/line lock solenoid? Or, do you use it to block pressure from the rear brakes using your foot on the brake as the roll control which allows you to ease off the front brakes and allow the car to move forward while spinning the tires? That by the way is the secret to some of the long high speed burnouts you may have seen posted to Youtube.
2) Will you use the roll control button as your method of launching the car at the drag strip. This is the poor man's trans-brake. But in my experience its worth a tenth in reaction time to a pro tree over using my leg on the brake pedal. This may decide your answer to m number 1.
Lastly, do you have a stick or an automatic which also effects the choice.Drag Week 2006 & 2012 - Winner Street Race Big Block Naturally Aspirated - R/U 2007 Broke DW '05 and Drag Weekend '15 Coincidence?Comment

Re: Roll control - what do I need to know
You will find with the button down its more of a one way valve just push the button and then pump the pedal, I put my button by the shifter then lift to shift once the wheels touch down2007 SBN/A Drag Week Winner & First only SBN/A Car in the 9's Till 2012

Re: Roll control - what do I need to know
Lets see, pump the brakes, hold the peddle down, push the button, release the peddle, rev the motor, release the button and have fun. ;)
Installing think, double flare, plumb into front brakes and wire the activation button to the negative side of the circuit.Comment

Re: Roll control - what do I need to know
clarification - is there anything I need to know before I wrap this coiled wire around my steering column? longevity tips? how do you keep the thing from getting tangled up in the signal stalk/tilt lever?
Bill - option 1, manual.... I suppose I could call it a hill holder as well; although it'd probably be better to lock the rears in that case.
TC - why negative side?

You know I'm not sure, but I do know that is the way my SLP line lock for my '99 Z28 is wired.Originally posted by Buickguy

Now why I think they do it, is in case your running a two-step limiter, you see the limiter is actuated by grounding the circuit, if you setup your line lock switch on the ground side you can hook your two-step to the same switch and control both the line lock and the two-step that way.

Re: Roll control - what do I need to know
already attached to the steering wheel; I did consider the shift knob button, but figured that hand was already busy enough rowing gears..... it's not like I use my signal hand ;DOriginally posted by Darren N.You don't need to necessarily use the steering mounted button. You can spring for a shifter like the one below or mount a generic momentary switch anywhere that is most comfortable for you.

Re: Roll control - what do I need to know
One other note, I try to keep all the plumbing below the Master Cylinder and above the factory distribution block which is still in my car and amazingly still functions in terms of the low or imbalanced pressure brake warning light. The lines make lateral runs point to point which makes bleeding and getting a really firm pedal much easier.
I use a t-handle button like the picture in thread when the automatic is in place and the Hurst supplied button on the six speed shifter.Drag Week 2006 & 2012 - Winner Street Race Big Block Naturally Aspirated - R/U 2007 Broke DW '05 and Drag Weekend '15 Coincidence?Comment
