Anybody ever hear of PRW-USA water pumps....or did I buy a Chinese water pump???

So I was cruising ebay last week for some parts to put my new motor for my Mustang together. Entirely my fault, I should have paid more attention. It was an add from Hawaii racing speed shop in Simi Valley selling what looked like an Edelbrock aluminum water pump. It was displayed exactly like Edelbrock water pumps listed by others, the photo looked just like the displays from other vendors selling Edelbrock water pumps. The wording was the same as far as specs and features. They no way implied it was an Edelbrock other then the reference of which model Edelbrock it interchanged with. So stupid me just ASSumed it was...even though it said PRW aluminum water pump. The price was quite bit less. I was thinking maybe a repackaged Edelbrock for a private brand maybe. Tunnel vision.

So today I opened the box and see PRW...WTF Anyway, it seems to be nicely made, no real complaints with it other then I was expecting anEdelbrock but once again, strictly my fault. The price was right and I can live with it, seems to be well made. Comments? On the other hand I did score a new Edelbrock fuel pump for $80.

    Here's their web site www.prw-usa.com

This is the pump I got http://www.prw-racing.com/index.php?...emart&Itemid=1

Seems that as soon as you see something that has "USA" in the name or advertising these days, watch out. It's like the big American flags they fly at imported car dealers. Bullsh*t. Those new '57 Chevy pans I see advertised for example. "Assembled in USA"! So, assembly was, like 2% of the work. Where is the rest from, I mean like what part of China was the scanning/reverse-engineer, tool & die, stamping and material from. Not saying?

Just occured to me I'm wearing a shirt this morning that says "DC Shoe Co. USA". Took it off to look at the tag...this one's from Mexico. I guess the DC Shoe Co. MEXICO, or KOREA, ones didn't sell so well.

I like how so many people are down on the stuff made in China, when most of the US car manufactures stuff is made in Mexico. I'm sorry but I'd take an engine part from China over one from Mexico any day........

When I was going through their catalog looking to see what kind of rockers they sold for sbf, I saw what looked like the ones you bought.

Thanks for the info. I can live with it since you say it's not bad. It was more of having your mouth geared for chocolate peanut butter ice cream and biting into a mouth full of vanilla.

After my rockers broke, I wanted to know more about PRW. I went to this page to learn about their company. Very criptic description of themselves. Their address is in Placentia, CA, but I know they make their stuff off shore.
