What the heck is it with dexcool?.... It eats up the intakes and gaskets. Is it safe just to drain, flush & replace with regular anti-freeze?

I've been wondering the same thing, since I want to run one on the twin turbo car.

                Re: Cooling

Dexcool is a corrosive coolant that is terrible for the motor, it eats head gaskets as well as intake gaskets. As far as electric water pumps go, it seems that anyone with some hp that the pumps are pushing the coolant through the motor way too fast and not allowing the coolant to cool as it is going in the rad.

So are you saying a lower GPM pump would be better to run than a higher GPM pump??

So what kind of GPM's would you say is safe.

How much of it is dependent on engine design/manufacturer.

And for the twin turbo SBC I'm putting together what kind of GPM would you recommend. I do plan on using a Dart little M block, if that makes a difference, and AFR heads.

Don't mix the two. Do a good flushing if you switch.

Yeah, I have a cooling question...

I am looking for a cooling fan. The fan will be used in a panel with a total of 12 fans per panel. This panel must be capable of cooling up to 10,000 watts. The fans must be 48VDC. Also, the fans must be NEBS compliant and not exceet 50dB. Minimum 225 CFM each fan.

                              Dimensions:
                              172mm round x 51mm thick
162mm center to center mounting holes

I am having a dickens of a time finding these things....

It's really no different than trying to glue them back on after she has her way.

Check with Spal USA for fan specs, we dont have anything that would be for you. As far as mixing coolants go there shouldn't be any reason why you cant mix them.
