Mowed the yard today, I did not rake the win-rows up yet Washed the Capri with Ajax and Comet got the mold off and most of the greasy fringer prints. Loaded it back on the trailer. Wish me luck I am hoping to run he 1/8 tomorrow! Anyone want to guess what it will run?

I have ha.... never mind, took the capri to Benson made 6 passes good thing I only care about MPH! Most of my runs were by runs but I did win the most important one, teenage girl in a (99-04) V6 auto mustang!

The only 2 passes worth talking about:

      10.35 @ 74.33 mph

      10.44 @ 77.11 mph

Got the mph to run low 14's in the 1/4.

It's always a win to return home with a running car!

So true! I was able to drive it back on the trailer, then off again into the shop!

I did not do any tuning, not sure that it is consistant enough to notice any alittle changes in timing, etc. I was pleased with the MPH my 89 has run a few 78s so its not that far off. I am going to change the intake and take it to the 1/4 hopefully I can get it over 80 in the 1/8 and over 100 in the 1/4 before Ohio. I think the 2nd half of the 1/4 will help more in tuning. With the open 2.47 on worn out street tires it will spin the through the 1/8. Oh btw never got out of 2nd gear

Right now I have the heater hose looped from the intake to the water pump. Is that best or is it ok to put a plug both ends?

I'd leave it looped because the plugs I have used were of questionable quality (developed cracks very quickly) and looked to be a potential point of failure.

You mean the rubber caps that go over the water pump? I was going to red neck engineer that and get a pipe plug for the intake, My new intake does not have the elbow on it.

Got my new used intake on the car last night and the dissy dropped back in. Now just the carb linkage, wires etc. Took way longer that it should have. I dropped one of the thermostat housing bolts down the dissy hole. Luckly I was able to get it out with a magnet. Then I had to mess with oil pump rod for a while to get it re seated the thing that holds it in place is not in the right place. The 1/4 is haveing Sunday afternoon testing from 2-8. Dad said he wanted go with me.

I picked up a used wide band O2 off craigslist (I hope it works) way more involved than I would have thought to install. Is an intake manifold stud bolt a good ground?

On a wide band O2 sensor, ground the heater ground wire away from the other O2 ground wires (or any other sensitive electronic grounds). I grounded my heater ground to the firewall and grounded the sensor to the same place as the MegaSquirt. In your case I'd make the sensor ground the same place or as close to the gauge as possible and make the heater ground away from that. I'd use the "on the engine" or "off the engine" mentality. If it's just a gauge I'd ground the heater to the engine (intake is good) and the sensor to the body (or same place as the gauge).
                  Escaped on a technicality.

Thanks that helps alot. Any reason i should not use the old radio wires for the key on 12 volt source?

Got the new intake on, I never could get the dissy dropped in on the right tooth, after too mainy failed attempts i gave up and just mover the wires one post over. Sounds pretty good. I really need to do something about the extream amount of advance.

Car is on the trailer fingers crossed for good day at the 1/4

                          Made 8 pass:

Off the trailer 14.79 @ 99.38 (breaking up)
2nd pass Best ET of the day 14.19 @ 98.64 (still not running right)
Four passes not with talking about. Dumped a couple gallons of race gas durring this time. Not sure if the volume or the 112 made it run better!
                          7th pass 15.73 @ 100.31! as seen here:

We watched the fast cars for a while let the car cool for 50 min. Then made a good clean pass of

I trailered the Capri to Ohio this past weekend. The Cummins did great pulling the hills with no problem. The Dodge part still needs work in the steering dept. Friday morning got everything unloaded and teched. Saturday morning car would not crank someone (me) forgot to unhook the battery and it drains! Jumped the car off got in pre stage. Car will not crank jump car off again drive back to pit. Go to town buy new battery. Get back to track Car cranks with old battery…. Go get back in the pre stage line. Car ran good, spun a lot in first was a little slow shifting going to second. The stock 85 mph speedo is not correct and even if it was would not be of much use. So I got a GPS speedo app on my Droid ran it up to 138 and backed off went through the lights at 136. Closed the open D/CFALT record. I up classed to C/ for my first run Sunday. Pretty much the same story little more aggressive on the bottom end held into it until GPS read 140. Went thought the trap at 136.8 mph. Car is running great have not touched anything I am having a blast so I Changed class to D/CBFALT and get back in line. On my third run somewhere past the
