    Engine Masters Challenge 2011

Well, we've been waiting anxiously for December 10th. That's the reveal day for the 2011 rules.

Our Hot Heads/Gene Adams, Danny Miller captained group has been scheming and theorizing about next year and can't wait to get to work. The basic engine is built, we're waiting for the rules to figure out what kind of induction system we'll be allowed.

I think most folks that we know are really pushing for a wide open induction rule, with a hope for a mano e mano EFI v. carb fight. I know DG is licking his chops, waiting to get in the ring again.

Just to refresh, we're flogging an early hemi of about 389 ci. Hot Heads aluminum heads (we've got two flavors to choose from), Ross pistons, Gene Adams ported the heads and intake, DIY Autotune provided ECUs, built up by DG. We're getting some help from some other vendors, I'll have to post up after I remember. Funniest part is we use a cam that was spec'd back in the 50's.

Here's hoping that we don't get surprised this year, and DG gets to do his magic.

    Stay tuned.

I'm sure Danny will be back with MFI or carburetors then. Personally, I think it's more of a likelihood than the rest of the guys on our team - it's clear to me that EFI was a major pain in the ass for the guys running the event, and one of the sponsors. One factory rep (salesguy?) went AWOL at the 2010 event; one competitor was giving them a ton of grief for not being able to make their engine run. I'm sure it was not the fault of the manufacturer but still - it provided for some uncomfortable moments in the staging area

I'm hoping they learned from last years significant numbers of EFI entries and everything will be smooth this year.

Trying to be the optimist here.

last years thread was great to keep up with (I stay silent and read the wisdom).

                    I can only guess...

if the 50s cam is kept up to with a clock generator, you guys deserve a win. ;)

The first year for any big change will have issues. I bet they will allow it again.
