        • I know I am not the only person to find those pistons sexually attractive. I may be the only one to admit, but you are all thinking the same thing.

          That intake is trick-a-dero!
That which you manifest is before you.

          • what is with the tiny holds in the top of the pistons?

what is the reason for those?

Thanks, there was a HUGE amount of effort that went into the manifold, throttle body, and ram tubes. I got to revise it this year and I would imagine there will be alot of pictures of this thing coming out after the contest - It truely is an amazing piece!

It was a sad day when I had to ship it to John @ Pro Machine, felt like I was loosing my "Masterpiece!"

                  • Your loss is the gearhead universe's gain! Amazing work, man, really.

I hope to hell you guys are able to put a thumpin' on 'em with that mill. You've really worked your ass off in all facets of this thing.

                    • No stone unturned on this entire build, now its up to "Geek" to squeeze out every ounce of power in her. I'll be glued to my phone and the computer this weekend in anticipation.

Every single one of these guys are amazing at what they do and it has been a huge team effort! Danny would be very proud of this thing!

                        • Day one and she's fighting us pretty good!!! Got tomorrow to find at least another hundred horse, I'm having a lot of trouble dialing in the tune but it USUALLY goes this way (day one sucks, day two we figure it out). We got Gene Adams, Ron Pratt (6 time CHRR champ!), John Beck (300mph highboy roadster), Mike Shriver, and others helping us slowly figure out how this new beast wants to run!!

Epic thrash going on in Chico.... updates tomorrow,

                          • One thing that keeps biting me in the ass: YOU CAN'T TUNE AROUND BROKEN PARTS!

Finding all kinds of valvetrain issues. That is to be expected on this motor. Fortunately, we got plenty of spare parts and the best boys in the business working on the issues. Should be making more noise on the dyno in an hour or two.

                            • What kind of issues?
It's probably not, but on the pic of the valve train those springs look close to binding.

adjusters backed off on multiple cylinders and we broke a spring. Yes, we're right on the edge of coil bind, so I am told. This motor is a "good for six pulls" combo from what I can tell. We have 24 pulls on it so far, been chasing wild AFRs that are probably caused by the mechanical issues. Today we're going back to EGTs and "step tuning" to get the fuel curve closer before winding it all the way up.

Probably the same stuff you deal with all the time!
