Totally cool car. I do some work on a friends 58 Coupe De Ville. I love driving it around.

Be careful backing up. You don't want to spear some poor pedestrian on those fins. ;D

Thank you guys for the compliments!

I found the car locally from a guy that has owned it for something like 13 or 15 years, and is moving and doesn't have room for the car where he is moving to.

I can't wait to get it cleaned up and get the brakes and other nick-nack items fixed on it so I can drive it more and get some decent pics of it.

Those Bendix Treadlevac power booster/master cylinders are great fun. :P Remember you have to bleed the master cylinder if you open the system anywhere. I got a reprint of the factory repair manuals for my friends. It was great help.

I looooove the hubcaps and big white walls on it reminds me of the Mafia type black Caddy's. 8)

Nice lil "hip" shot of Queen Victoria II (the name the previous owner gave the car).

Its funny how many people asked if I am sticking a LS1 in it (since I did in my 78 Caprice) or another type of engine lol.

I think I will try to keep this one as Original as possible though.

I got Gregg's manual from Coopers Vintage Auto in Burbank, CA. They specialize in old Caddy's. They used to be a full fledged salvage yard, but reduced all their cars to parts and moved into a old warehouse.

One of my local suppliers for suspension parts got the master cylinder rebuilt for me.

That Caddy 365 engine is rated at 310 HP stock. We had problems with the original Rochester 4Jet not being able to give enough fuel on today's shitty gas. I couldn't find anyone with jets to solve the issue so I replaced the carb with a Edelbrock carb which mounts to the original intake. It made a major difference in power. I did however have to block the exhaust cross-over because the exhaust hits the carb base directly. It's not a problem on 4Jet because of it's cast iron base, but I feared the Edelbrock would melt. I also had to reuse a bracket off the 4Jet on the Edelbrock to correctly connect the throttle linkage and tranny kickdown rod.

Awesome, thanks for the great info! I am at work so it will not let me look at the link but I am going to "bookmart" it when I get home! ;D

Look at that... I might be a part of the "In-Style" crew for a change then. (A LS1 Caprice doesn't seem to be "In-Style" with the masses just yet.) :D
