New connecting rod question

I have what I feel is a stupid question but I need to ask. First let me explain that on previous motors I have either not had a bottom end problem and never had to tear down the engine, or I have blown it up bad enough to need a complete new bottom end. So re-using pieces is all new to me.

So I have to use a new block for Maxton the old one is toast. The pistons and crank are in great shape so they will go in the new block. I have new rings and some new rods that I have had sitting for a rebuild.

My question is can I still use the existing piston pins and spiral locks (no wear marks) or do they have to be new with the new rods?

Pins usually get replaced with the pistons. The rods generally are sized to work with the pins (usually not necessary with pressed pins, but it's good to at least check the pin bore size). Might want to replace the locks after being used though.

Pistons and pins are staying together. The pins mic out to spec with the rod size as well. Shelf stock parts with OEM sizes.

Just make sure the pins are the same OAL and they are end cut for the right type of locks - very small chamfer for spiral locks, bug chambfer for wire locks.

Thanks all. I picked up the new block from the machine shop today. Start building tomorrow. We should fire it up Friday or Saturday. Waiting on some flywheel bolts that are due in Friday (the ones on it now are stretch type).
