I'm sure the sizes will be standard enough, just no one puts them in a nice packaged kit.

Ha! Once I get the shelving cleaned off and organized in the Barn, lots of stuff I dropped off in the enclosed part will be moved out to other areas of the barn.

This is lagging a bit, but got an e-mail yesterday saying some parts are headed my way at some point this week. In that batch I expect the needed valve or valve spring. I also got a call from the shop that does fancy head porting on these heads, but haven't returned the call yet. It's on my to do list. I'm thinking very shortly after Drag Week having an engine together and yanking the 400 out of the Firebird.

Not that I'm aware of. I think the stall converter is too tight for the cam though.

variable vane would help with that?

I'd like to see if we can get Squirrel interested in a controller for an HE351v. All that robotic knowledge would transfer to a variable vane pretty well I would think?

Great thread sir. Did you ever find out if your bird left the factory with a 400 in it? Sometimes you can find the orginal build sheet under the rear seat or behind the panel under the rear passenger side quarter window. I'm starting a conversion on my 1952 F1 to a 4x4. The plan is to remove the FE thats now in it and put the 230 sprint motor I have in. I've rounded up the large parts and now I looking for the smaller parts. Do you know if there is anyone making new flywheels? Keep up the good work.

Randall, do you happen to have a pic of your fuel pump, or a part number (interchange). When I dropped my engine, thats the part that nailed my knee. It seperated where it meets the inlet/outlet assembly. It appears both O'Reilly's and Napa don't have a clue unless I can give them a Vin number.

Alternativley, I could go to electric if I can find a block off plate. I guess.
