    ECTA Rule book question

Was wondering when the 2011 rule book will be available . I had the bug before but now....it's bad . Still not alot of money so I'll just run in the street class and build something that might be competitive some day. Looking for a class that intrests me . Things like what the definition of a roadster or convert, moving fire walls and such is allowed and whether it move you into another class, according to the book . I just have too many questions to ask here.If it will be awhile I'd be interested inpurchasing a 2010 to tide me over since I'm just in the dreaming stages right now.But I've about gotten my 26x36 barn cleaned out so......

Yes I like them too and they are lighter . They are wider which might be a problem in the LSR gig and somewhere along the line I think the rear needs converted to a solid axle ( I'll probably never be that fast ) but for autocrossing and open track days the vette would have to be far better.

    Re: ECTA Rule book question

The 2011 rule books will not be available until January ... I hope, but here are the changes for 2011 as outlined in the 2010 book:

Beginning2011, all cars over 200 will have an engineered and tested SFI spec 38.1 type head and neck restraint system.

    AKA-Hans Devise

Beginning 2011, all cars over 175 mph will be required to have a seat or roll cage structure to provide restriction to lateral head movement of less than 2.0" of total side to side inclusive of structure deflection.

AKA- if I can move it with applied body force, it fails!

Helmets-2005 and 2010 Snell 2000 are now outdated

Seat belts...good for 5 years only.

We are waiting to see what changes the SCTA pass and will move forward to get the rule books to press.

    Hope this helps,
    Joe

The SCTA board will vote on rule changes this Friday at the meeting. I will forward the changes that are passed on Sat or Sun.

Anyone have an old rulebook I can borrow? I'm not building anything, but I have no idea what designates a Comp Coupe, Altered, Classic..... clueless.
