Electric Water Pump on a Street car?

Have any of you guys actually run an electric water pump on the street in a car with any HP? say like 500hp...

I'm asking cause the 32 isn't happy with the spacing between the water pump and new fan that should actually keep it cool...

Do you still have a short water pump on it? Cuz you're not going to find an electric pump that's shorter than that unless you remote-mount the pump. Either way, an electric pump will look way wrong.

I've got one on mine, 423 rwhp if that qualifies. If you do decide to go with an electric wp order two, and carry the extra one with you. Trust me on this.

That depends on what you mean by "street car". Mine is around 500hp.

I have been using the Moroso electric motor that drives the stock water pump using a cogged belt, with the large pulley on the electric motor for more flow. I have two 12" electric fans mounted to the radiator.

After about 10 miles in the summer, at 55mph, my temp got over 180, so I stopped and let it cool down... I know, I know... but I like to keep it around 160. When it starts going over 180, it makes me nervous.

If you're intention is to go on long road trips... sorry, can't help ya. For in-town cruising around, I'd say you'd be fine with an elec water pump.

The Fan isn 't a happy thing right now...

the blue cuda you hated so bad had the same electric pump for 1 power tour (03) and 2 drag weeks ,with no issues at all

i run a mezeire on my 9 sec. (1/4) t/a. it works great. usually runs around 175-180 degrees in the summer time. i do occasional freeway driving (around 55-60 mph). thats with a 3.73 and a glide trans with 3600 convertor. it also has the factory electric fan and a 160 thermostat.

I'm just trying to weedle out of what I really need to do which is move the Radiator forward 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch... causing several other issues... Just didn't want to do it... but Freiburger's right the thing needs a regular water pump...
