Interesting facts about the original engine: zero vacuum at tip end, positive pressure at top end of the rpm range. This engine was really well scienced and simulated.

Great story!! It seems like the people conducting the event should make 100% sure all competitors are correctly connected to the dyno (fuel, 12v,and water) before starting your time.

You'd think it would be in their best interest. There isn't really a story if the basics aren't covered. I understand the need to keep the show moving, but they aren't well served by engine failures caused by those kinds of simple issues.

ending sucked, would've prefilling the coolant and cap'n the ports helped prime the water pump ,
this way, u hook up and the pump already had water in it..
with an oil pump you can put p/jelly to start a prime,
can you use the same idea, with a water dissoluble item to start a prime?

We're trying to figure out the water pump prime issue right now. Danny's talking about putting a bleed screw in the pump housing itself. Perhaps we could have cleared the air if we'd place the engine on an incline on the dyno. This is definitely something we need to cure.

As to the Hemi and our issues
