The Magnaflow guys said they heard it was gonna start in New Orleans!

I had a pretty good source confirm this with me this weekend. Also said Indy was in the mix on the way to Detroit. But he does not know if it is going to be at the dragstrip or the Brickyard.

My source got his info from Jerry Pitt who is trying to get him to reup his 5 year sponorship. Pitt also laid out the next 3 years to him which he would not share.

Rex,I don't think that late in the week it can be held at Indy's O'Reilly Raceway Park. Goodguys is having their Hot Rod Nationals the weekend we end the tour and I think the timing would clash. People start to show up on Thursday for this race. And at Goodguys they let you drive the Brickyard as well as a drag race event. Just some food for thought..

Maybe we should refrain from naming names when we discuss "leaked" information. That would only serve to shut down the leaks, and we all like the early info. If someone questions your source maybe it could be handled via PM.

if it is in NO who would possibly want to stay at the marriot in downtown just blocks from "the quater"

My uncle knows a guy there and might be able to pull some strings if we can get a group rate going?

Think i spoke to soon, regular rates at the Marriot are about $200 a night ...so he would have to get us like 50% off to make it more affordable..(don't think my uncle has that good of connections but we will see)

There is a Holiday Inn (not the Express) right next to the French Quarter right now it is about $120 a day and has parking for $26 on top of that... that is where i am thinking of going...
(only found one with free parking downtown "Dury Inn")...

Found out that Super 8 on the east side is no good...you want to stay by Metairie and Kenner if you are going to stay outside of downtown, or way further out, like some of you have been talking.

can't HOT ROD JUST MAKE AN ANOUNCMENT for crying out loud!... you know they probably have the cities figured out...but not all the venues!!!
