Re: *Official* 2011 HRPT Freaks Hotel List

seems like some folks jumped in at the HIE on Eleven Mile Road.....when the tour stopped there a couple of years ago (they switched the venue from the GM Tech Center to the Metro Beach Metropark....a great venue, imo) some folks reserved in Roseville, MI, which is just a few minutes from that area....anyway, the HEI on Eleven Mile is 7 mi/about 8 min from Metro Beach (if that turns out to be the venue)...if we go to the GM Tech Center, it's closer......rexx

Was this a decent place to stay? Is it close to other hotels where freaks may be staying?
It was good & slam full of people, ran out of parking places late.

From my understanding from talking to key people on PT this year is that the cruise night will be at the park Metro Park.... and the Long Haul Photo is going to be at the GM Tech Center

This is what is being reported on the other side....looks like Mobile again!

    Curby:
I was at the dragstrip in Montgomery, AL last week and they announced that Montgomery Motorsports Park will be the first drag strip stop on the 2011 Hot Rod Power Tour. We know it will end in Detroit, so it looks like a South to North tour next year.

    kidcadillac68:

Gang....I was a hopin' and a prayin'...but it looks like it is for naught.

I was told by the Director of Downtown Development in Mobile that they had been assured by HRM and Family Events that it would start in Mobile next year. I didn't mention it because I was hoping someone would change their minds.

    So....Mobile Friday Night and Saturday....

Montgomery Sunday....(backroads to Montgomery 221 miles....)

    Monday
    Tuesday
    Wednesday
    Thursday

    Detroit Friday...and that's a 1200 mile backroad drive in 5 travel days...200-240 a day....

    fill in the blanks...
    Cruise 'til it hurts!
