Great book. While some of you wait for the signed version to make its way around the country you might want to pick up Driving Like Crazy by P.J O'Rourke, a collection of really funny automotive related essays and editorials. I spit our my drink on an airplane reading one of his stories.

On a different level altogether is Shop Class as Soulcraft Mattew B Crawford, a much heavier read that validates why working on our junk is so important to us and to our economy and our country. Next time someone looks down their nose at your dirty finger nails quote from this book.

It was very readable and flowed well. Not a long book , took me a couple hours to read through it. The storyline is pretty much as described, the life of Denny through the eyes of his dog. Good book, delivers a decent message and does a reasonable job of bringing out the mindset of why people race and work on cars.

I just couldn't get into shop class as soulcraft. I guess living it was better than reading about it.

Just picked up "The Art....Rain" from Amazon on BS'rs recommendations, also got PJ O'Rourke's offering. I have cackled, hooted, and wiped tears of laughter from my eyes so much this weekend that my Dad wants to read "Driving Like Crazy" next. Also picked up "The Cobra in the Barn", which is an excellent read. A big "thumbs up" on all 3 books!

This is weird I heard about this book for the first time last week from a source totally removed from my car world. I am hopping for a book on tape cause I have a Loring and a Bonnivile trip coming up real soon.

                            Steve
Well I have stopped buying stuff for cars I don't own. Is that a step in the right or wrong direction?
