I see it as more of a purple than a pink...besides if youre secure in your manhood then it dont matter what shade of pink youre rockin'..this coming from the guy who drives a purple pick-up

I think you guys are taking me too seriously here. I've actually taken great pains to save the best section of what's left of the original paint on the car. If I ever decided to repaint the car that color, I'll be able to get the shade correct.

Pictures, Scott, pictures. I don't recall seeing any sections of your car being pink in the pictures you've posted..

The paint was sanded off before I bought the car. The most pristine paint is under the trunk lid and the passenger door jam. The door jam paint is still gorgeous, but has a bit of over spray from the last black paint job. Not many of us have taken pics of those areas of our cars.

Just teasing, but I'll show pictures of my current project doorjambs if you'll show your pink "undies".

LOL, you tell 'em Scott!!! :D ;)

I think that freakin' pink color is cool-lookin'!! Anyway, I have a Matchbox GTO in almost that exact color, with Superfast wheels, so I guess it came out in 1969...I have the original version in red that came out in 1964, which looks more like a lowrider.
Mike the Matchbox you have is a Grand Prix .I have one too . I like evening Orchid as well.
You're absolutely right, Anthony - my bad! A brain fart, I suppose. But yes, that's the car! It's a bit darker color than the evening Orchid (which I think is halfway between pink and purple - a sort of metallic lavender ) There were some awesome colors on those old cars and Matchboxes!! I think there was a VW Type III fastback in a similar shade - got that too).

Scott, I'm glad you're going to rebuild the engine and do other upgrades. It will turn into a wicked street machine before too long!

I'll have to dust off the Centurion for a heads up land yacht race

(I think it may need a transmission or rebuild )

Apropos pink muscle cars, I almost kick myself for not buying a factory pink 1970 Mach 1 back 15 years ago in Galveston for $3000. I simply didn't have enough shore leave from the Delta Queen when we were in port that day.

That'd be great. We'll hit up Irwindale. Mine with the worn out 454 and your gas mizer 455. It'll even more exciting than the race between Chad's 66 Bel Air wagon and DF's 67 Impy convert, both with 283 2bbls. I'll have to fix that broken wheel stud first.
