This is why I wouldn't put them on every car. My DD, for instance, the 84 C10 I use for work is quiet and I like it that way - as do my customers and their neighbors. I guess I'm getting old.Originally posted by Shelty View Postwouldnt some headers help it breath better? the Hedmans i put on the wagon certainly woke up that tired old small block. woke it up a little bit, mostly it just makes a lot of noise lol

I don't feel like doing the cam break in with open headers. I am sure everyone else in the county would appreciate as well.
The head pipes on this set up are probably going to need major alterations to hook up to headers. Most likely starting by cutting the H pipe in half. I don't have collector leak problems with headers. I am sure I am killing horsepower with the manifolds, but I don't care at this point in my life.BS'er formally known as Rebeldryver

I always chuckle and think about the kid on the Mustang forum who broke in his cam with open headers at 2 AM in the condo complex where his dad lived.TomOverdrive is overrated

I haven't posted lately because I am moving to the house I bought. I tried once more to get the car started and broke in Thursday and the starter took a big dump. Got another from Advance, bolted it on; then I realized it was missing the post for the coil during starting. I towed it over to the new house instead without even unbolting the starter. Went back to moving.BS'er formally known as Rebeldryver

Very little. My boss came by last Thursday night and we moved the big furniture in one trip using his trailer. I finished up Tuesday night moving the fridge, my 12 bolt, my 400 block, and my compressor. My next door neighbor helped me pushed the fridge up the rental truck ramp. Turned in my keys to the manager last night.Originally posted by malc View Post

At my last big move, I broke a bone in my foot turning on the stairs, which caused me to fall and break a glass door.
I did the whole day with a swollen foot and roughly bandaged hand, I returned the hire truck and went to hospital.
Didīnt get to my new abode until ten days later, they kept me in foot covered in ice.Comment

Last night was so nice out, I went out to the garage, turned on the radio, and got busy. New starter bolted in, cranked engine over a couple of times to check the starter. The engine tried to fire. So, I dropped it off the jackstand, pumped the gas, and hit the key. She fired, coughed, sputtered and quit. Turned the distributor a bit, hit the key again, and Vrrrroommm!! She came to life. Put my foot on the gas and ran it up to 2000 rpm. Let it run a couple of minutes. Then I shut it off, opened the idle speed on the carb, fired her up again and let her run while I checked timing at 2000, about 25 degrees, and looked for leaks. She ran for ten minutes with the temp creeping up to 210* in the garage without much airflow. No leaks. Oil burning off things. 9 months of dust burning off everything under the car. It was glorious.
I will finish off the cam break in tonight if it is not raining too hard. Bring a fan out to the garage to blow at front of car.BS'er formally known as Rebeldryver
