Oh, man - what a beast!
In 1970 I was only a couple years from getting my drivers license.
I would have terrorized half the countryside in this thing.

Ahhh, beautiful. I had one of these in the 80's. It was Grabber Green with a 428 Cobra Jet 4 speed and 3.90 gears. Upon investigation, it turned out to be the Holy Grail, an original Boss 302 Eliminator. It was a blast. Sold it in 1984 after a drag racing ticket. Went searching for another one a few years ago, and my old car turns up on the Boss 302 message board! It is fully restored to original and sitting in a garage 20 miles from my house. And I will never own it again....

Actually there were two. They were converted R-code standard Cougars, not Eliminators or XR-7's.
Both of their shells, or parts of their shells have been accounted for.
One is currently under re-construction with a replacement body.
