    Honing rods

I want to hone the small end of some SCAT H-beam Pontiac rods to 1.00" from .980". Does anyone see a problem with that?

Also, does anyone know how thick the bronze bushing in the small end is?

I think my only concern is that the bushing is still thick enough after I hone them.

I'd contact the manufaturer. I'm contempating the same thing on my Turbo6, 0.927in SBC pins to 0.940in Buick pins.

I have not caliper'd the thickness, but .980 to 1.00 is only a change of 0.010 in wall thickness. I doubt it's a problem.

CTX, the change in wall thickness in your example is even less, at 0.0065.

I'm going to order the rods tommorrow. Nobody has said "absolutley not", just some fuzzy " no, I wouldn't do it." If they don't look safe, Ill keep them for my Pontiac.

I'll let you know how it goes.
