    Is it Vortec or Gen III powered? Vortec's should have the externally regulated style while the Gen III's might have the internally regulated style though I don't know much about the truck fuel system. The cars went returnless sometime in 99 I believe.

        it's the all new 99 silverado, with the Gen III type engine (iron block aluminum heads). Vortec is a kind of meaningless term, it just means that it's a truck engine (truck engines have been named Vortec for a long time, regardless of what they are--small, big, old, new)
