      I picked up 3, so I have 2 extra.

What are the rules on mounting position? Is under the car good? I have no trunk.

          Re: Fuel Pump Inertia Switch

I was wondering if there is a preferred location to install these inertia switches?
I was going to put mine in the trunk in-line with the fuel pump relay, do you think that is a good spot?

That seems to make the most sense. The factory location on those is in the trunk mounted with the red button vertical.

I mounted mine under the car near the fuel tank. I tapped in where the sending unit harness enters the bulkhead in the center of the axle housing. :

Any reason not to mount it on the roll cage where I can reach it? I'm thinking there's a remote possibility that the shaking of the track could shut it dow. The Camaro doesn't ride THAT rough but you never know.

I was thinking the same thing. I have a brand new one right here in my hand and just a firm shake and it trips.

At the race this weekend, I only saw one car (the little white streamliner) that had an inertia switch problem. Guess it shut them right down.

I got a push start and the car stumbles a little bit when leaving, and I got a double hit when it left from the push truck behind, the switch didn't pop, but 10 seconds later the head gaskets did :-)

I handed them my spare but I guess they decided not to use it. I got it back at the end of the meet unused.

Mine worked out just fine. But then, I'm SPECIAL (like, a SPECIAL bus, a SPECIAL teacher, etc.).
