gears are not for getting off thew line.. or tires not hooking...
if it spins the tires the gear didn't matter.. as they had enoough oats to spin

My man is going to use the Jedi-launch mind trick and tip toe that car out of the hole.

That which you manifest is before you.

what the car weight... 34-35 hundred lb?
Brian's right about one thing for sure, I will be using the Jedi launch control.

700 has a gil younger shift kit, any gear, any time I want...
car is light, and the exhaust has no cats, 2.5"

But I'm thinking (and Hoping) nik2 gets the cookie.... :D

good luck, oh and mileage will be checked on the way home b/c i'm going to try and show at the track with a near empty tank of 91, fill up with a tank of 87, and refill with 87 when I get home... so if I break, no mileage to report besides a guesstimate.

The LT1 made about 300hp in those cars and ran in the 13.9-14.1 range. I've driven a couple at the track, and spinning the tires wasn't that big of an issue with michelin pilots. I don't know about your track or tires, but if it's not much different, I'll split the difference and say 14.0 at 102. The brakes are good so I would run them for about 1500ft and try to hit 110, which was fun. ;D

Re: cookie for the closest guess

the only way I'm going to run 10's at 30 MPG is a BIGGG turbo... :o

and yes, it's an adapter for a q-jet...

so here is the rundown for the day, I got up late, left in a hurry and forgot my helmet. i though no big deal, it takes 11's to need a helmet.

Got to teh track a little late, tech was wide open, drove through tech, straight to the line, around the water box, no burnout (no cool down after the drive, no tire pressure adjust, basically straight off the road and onto the track! sweet!!)...

did a dry hop and spun a bit, used the Jedi launch control and was full throttle around 4000 rpm (poor reaction time but I was fully focused on hooking up), hit the return road and was stopped and told i need a helmet, the changed the rules and ANY time needs a helmet.. doh.. so i only got ONE pass in, hot.... no time to work on carb tuning, ignition timing, launch or tire pressure or even let it cool and run cold...

                    ET? 12.79 @ 109.53 MPH ....

I hit the second to last gas station leaving tulsa and the next to last gas station on the way here. it was 3.427 gallons, 66 miles... works out to: 19.25 MPG .. so I missed my fuel mark. But did run 75-80 MPH all the way back and had to stop for a toll booth on the way... over all I'm well pleased, that 109 MPH should get me in the low 12's with some slicks and that 9.5" stall I have... although it probably won't happen, this is a road car.

                    BTW, Nik2 gets the win!!

I am impressed it's a 12-second car from the specs. But can we really call a Corvette a sleeper ???

I can only hope to do as well next time I get to the track.

                            I thought you'd get closer to 30mpg... :

and the times surprised me. I must have overlooked wide open plenum and the stall...

on another note, there really is 30mpg corvettes, and they aren't all that slow either.
In fact it was an inspriration to build a tall geared monster of my own in the 90s.

I didn't and they said something about only one return spring too. i wanted to tell them the Qjet had a built in return spring but before I could say anything he said i better have it fixed before I came back again, but that I could run. they weren't so nice about no helmet on the return road...
IF I'm going back I need to know their new rules, I generally went to the midnights which used to be a run what ya brung..... so
