Feels good to be driving the beast again. Now to start working on other things.....sheet metal repairs to stop the cancer being near the top of the list. Also need to address some minor things like the window motors & door locks, but the cab corners & rockers need to be taken care of before anything else.

More parts found for this beast. Bought a pair of loaded doors - power windows & locks like the truck already has - for $50 & factory mid-back buckets & console for $50. Seats need to be redone, but for the price I couldn't resist.

Been enjoying driving the beast & even got a couple trophys at shows. Getting estimates from several friends an getting the cab corners & rockers fixed over the winter. It's good to have friends that do restorations for a living and are willing to let me in to help as needed.

cab corners aren't too bad to do if you get a quality stamping... but this is one of those areas where spending the most money on the parts saves you money in the end.
Time has arrived to prep the beast for winter slumber. Unfortunately work has stopped due to lack of funding. Trying to get another week out of it before hand is gonna be rough with a winter storm in the forecast for Monday tho.

It's cool that it came (to you) with the taller radiator and proper shroud. My truck was/ is a 305 truck, and came with the shorter radiator that may have been ok for the stock configuration, but plans for a 350 - and using the truck to tow - made the larger radiator a proper upgrade for me. Fortunately, I found a truck in a salvage yard that had what I needed for the conversion.
You can tell by the brackets that hold the radiator in. In your pics, you can see they bolt to the top of the radiator support. On the shorter ones that came in trucks with 6 cyl and some 305's, they bolt on the engine side of the radiator support about an inch or so lower than the top. Side mount (#10) vs top mount (#11) . http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/CC/full.aspx?Page=59

1599 is the part number on the radiator I just bought for my truck. The old one was half clogged with rust. My buddy at the parts store said this was the largest one, heavy duty with AC, etc. It's aluminum with plastic tanks - and was pretty inexpensive. Not 3 core, but supposedly equivalent. That part number is for an automatic and comes with the heat exchanger / transmission cooler.
