You must love washing your vehicle. I hate owning a black car because it shows every flaw and speck of dirt. I didn't know any better when I bought mine. lol.

It's springtime here in middle GA and pollen from the pine trees is showing up everywhere. I can wash my car and 30-60 minutes later the car will be covered in yellow pollen and look as if I didn't wash it at all.

I had a shinny Black Ford E200 short wheel based van when I was young (er) and I know exactly what you mean. It would be dusty before I finished drying the thing.

The suede isn't quit as bad and if it isn't dirty - just dusty - then a "California duster" should take care of that pretty good. Besides it doesn't bother me as much when I am being lazy and my car is dirty BUT when I try to make it look it's best and it still looks bad - that bothers me. It needs to be painted and I think that most of the colors that would look good on it would still show the dirt.

I don't know - that is why I was asking "one more time".

That color was made for your car, they just didn't know it at the time they mixed it.

I've said it before on other forums and I'll say it again....your wagon is probably one of the baddest looking cars on tour and one of my personal favorites and the color has a lot to do with it. Hope it gets done in time. 8) 8)

I agree with your choice Allen - a suede black is the only color for that wagon. Using the right paint will protect your investment and make it easier to care for in future. It really does look mean in black.

Save the hate mail everyone, It does like nice ,but if I were going to the trouble of paying someone to paint it I would go with gloss black or at least semi gloss .The body is so straight ,I'd have to show it off like nothing but a shiny paint job will .Jus t my .02

Gloss is pretty.
And yep, the body is straight and would look great gloss ..
but a good suede job is more unique and the black looks meaner too !

Thanks everyone for your input and compliments.

I have asked this question 3 or 4 times on different boards over the last 6 - 9 months. The paint job is going to cost the same amount of money regardless of the color. I have insisted that it be as perfect as possible regardless if it is suede or shinny. The things that I am going to have fixed this time around are very subtle that few people notice.

The fact is I LIKE the primer (Hot Rod) look.

Perhaps when I get tired of the ride quality and maintenance, I will back down on the engine and paint it an appropriate trailer queen color. :

Other then that it's last years news... paint it another color and make it Matte if you have to... but to do the same thing everyone else is doing is boring with a wonderfully special car... ( I'm a Huge fan of two door wagons )...

Check out Groucho's Vette... it's Blue and Matte... looks totally bitchen... and it's NOT belly button.... Neither is the wagon yet...

Works in progress are done in Primer... anything else deserves to be painted...

Multiple pastel panels with ribbons and murals?

Perhaps a Stone, Cook and Woods Gasser on one side and a lair on the other with the velvet scantly clad female stretched out on a fur rug on the other. A dragon on the hood and a profile of the "truckin man" on the rear hatch?

Seriously, what color (s) would you feel would not be copying what everyone else is doing

Sliver
Orange
Black Cherry
Plum Crazy
Mauve
White (flip / flop pearl)

I am not sure that suede has been overused. What percentage of cars do you see that are suede compared to the other colors that I listed above?

So what do you think of Gloss Black with a matte finish :

The car is in the shop now but I should still have 6 weeks or so to fret about this question.

CANDY TANGERINE PEARL! Put some pop in it! or we could do a vinyl wrap on it, DIGITAL FIRESTORM from one end to the other...... then in a couple of years ; you get tired of it..we just peel it off and your back to black primer again. or do it totally in CARBON FIBER wrap; OR A COMBO OF BOTH! possibilities are endless.
