Re: BS and anything else about Power Tour

I am really looking forward to meeting you folks. Sounds like we might fit into the crowd, if we can keep up.........we get about 15 in the ole truck. I built it more as a cruiser than for eye-popping power...355/T-10/308 posi. A/C is nice too, but I may need to collect cellphone numbers to see where the group is! Save me a beer. Can't wait, either.

In years past a lot of the "freaks" have had business cards made up with phone #'s etc. Makes it easy to pass out! ;) Looking forward to seeing that sweet truck in Topeka.

The business card idea was a good one, I thought (still have some left over from other tours)...and, I was thinking, there was a post awhile back on the HR board from a couple from Georgia(?), who were thinking about doing the tour in their motor home; they have towing capabilities, were willing to follow the tour and tow (for a minor fee I guess) anyone who broke down along the way (the fees would compensate for the gas). I thought it was a great idea, suggested that they start in LR and get their phone number out there (like the fellow who drove his tow truck on the '05 tour) for anyone who might need assistance. Haven't seen anything else from that couple since their initial post, but it was a good idea I thought.....and, I'm hoping that garages and repair shops along the route also post their info for those of us who might be in need of their services....

We've got the cards on order....should have them shortly. I can't remember who first told me about that, but what a great idea....on one of the forums I imagine. Also got the ideal to pre-print address labels for 'filling out' goodie forms from someone. That's a timesaver!

Thanks Cheaps, the ole truck was a fun 2-year project. Mary is turning into quite the mechanic. A friend shot the paint for me, and another buddy did the upholstery (seats, headliner, small door panels. The garage is back in order, except for the routine maintenance now. We put 2800 miles on it between July and October last year, so it's ready for a long run. Can't wait!

Sounds like Miss Mary and I have quite a bit in common. We both love the antiques in our lives, old cars and the old men who drive them! ;) :D

Steve, there are several web sites where you can do it online for very cheap/free. I just can't remember the names.

You can also print business cards really easy and cheap from home. Buy a box of business cards (maybe 10.00 at Walmart)that are precut that go into your printer and you use templates from "Word" or there area also many other programs and make your own. You can add pictures also if you want to put your car on the card. My kids used to make them all the time when they went to summer camps and wanted to give out address's and emails.
