    Nope - I don't think it's too fine a line at all.

Contrary to what you may think, I'm not opposed to trade with other nations...hell I live in Canada - most everything I buy comes from somewhere else...including stuff made in the USA if you think about it.

I'm simply saying that those who want free access to our markets should allow us free access to theirs. If they are not willing to do that, then they should either peddle their wares elsewhere, or be prepared to face the same restricions we do in their markets.

Seems perfectly reasonable to me....but they don't see it that way. They plug the halls of government with lobbyists who's job it is to knock down trade barriers, yet there is no mechanism in place to do the same in an attempt to gain greater access to markets in Japan.

That's what I mean when I use the word predatory.

D/G free trade ..Do you understand that IDEA..
that doesn't mean tax the crap out of imports that come into Japan..
and not expect the same treatment towards their goods.. It's high time we, play that same game...
drop the ungodly taxes on our goods imported into Japan, and allow more good in.. Or we'll start to do the same..
It be in the best interest of capitalism and free market economy..As it would help help jobs. and boost the economy, as people would be working and have money to spend...

free trade,, is a joke.. and you know it..
a world economy only works when everyone plays by the same rules as far as ,TRADE is concerned..
as,of now. that hasn't happened.. and the American people think.. the imports, are smarter biz. model..
they'd fall flat on their face if they had to play by the same rules the force the rest of the world trade to work under..
it's high time we think about number 1.. and stop allowing free trade to be a one way street...
in this case.. it do nothing but help our economy to tax the crap out of imports. allowing the domestic product to thrive.. and inturn more job's and more jobs means more taxes..that help fix the roads/bridges/welfare/ss/army oh, and the big one.. paying down that monster debt. we owe.. without raising taxes on the American people..
right now free trade is a oneway street.. with Japan/China. and a few others.. and IS the reason for the trade product imbalance... THIS is a FACT that D/G you can't say isn't true.. and supporting this way of trade by ,buy'n products from countries that practice this, way of trade.. will in time kill OUR country.. if nothing is done.. They've had enough time to drop the high taxes on our imported goods into their country.. and have done nothing..It's NOW time for us.. THE AMERICAN WORKER to require our government to practice the same trade practice as those countries we trade with until the one way street "free trade"(ha) changes..

A break in the shitstorm that this became...

Got an email from a friend of mine. This is the closest I have to an "inside source".

            Tag,

According to my sister-in-law (who QCs for Mitsubishi) the supplied for Toyota said "we acknowledge this design with serious concern." Then apparently Toyota said "BFD. Build it."

Just a little bit of fun info. Tuck it in your cap. Didn't hear it from me.

I wonder...how hard would it be to get a live recording of the Japanese CEO going absolutely batshit when the word "recall" is used?
            Editor-at-Large at...well, here, of course!

"Remy-Z, you've outdone yourself again, I thought a Mirada was the icing on the cake of rodding, but this Imperial is the spread of little 99-cent candy letters spelling out "EAT ME" on top of that cake."
