So I had to go home to meet the plumber (yes, again) and I decide to work on the Mustang a little. One thing I knew I needed to do was flush the cooling system. Man did I! Seems I cleaned the block up when I got it back from the machine shop, but I didn't mess with the coolant passages much. You wouldn't believe the mud that came out of this sucker. I think I will let it sit for a while and flush it again just to be sure!

I was just back flushing through the top radiator hose. Plenty of brown came out of the block, but waaaaay more came out of the radiator. I thought about adding something, but have not. I don't know what works. Time to google!

Oh yeah... I guess it really is a Mudstain after all.

benz diesel guys use citric acid powder, I've always thought CLR would work pretty good, or a mild solution of muriatic acid... but not sure what that would do to any aluminum you have in the system

My worries about valve train issues forced me to make a purchase.....

Jomar stud girdle. I figure my peace of mind is worth the 200 bones.
