I've been going through your build page by page year by year. Thank you.

Its looking more and more likely that I'll hvae to build a Fox Mustang or maybe Fairmont if I ever want to be competitve at DW or the local True Street events. And yeah I know its stupid but I like the idea of at least being in the hunt.

Any way all of your documentation is incredibly valuable. I'll try not to be too much of a pest.

Fox platform cars are certainly user friendly, but your car kills in terms of badassery.

Fiddled with it some at lunch today. I decided to move the temp gauge sender off the top of the waterneck and down to a position on the intake manifold itself. I also put the Moroso in-line radiator cap (22lb) back in the upper hose. For no other reason than to have a fill point higher than the radiator mounted cap (16lb).

Pulley should be here tomorrow. Can't wait to get it on the car.

I gave up not being a pest for Lint... and I think the pads I got were for a six cylinder Fairlane or something, look just like those but at 5.00 a piece, I figured I could make them work. The stands show up on Ebay frequently for about 50.00-60.00 which is what I paid for mine if I remember correctly. When I got them I was pissed I didn't just build them. Having the "prototype" here makes it that much easier though. I'll do the Chinese R&D, receive and duplicate!

Bill, I work at half the speed of smell. Some call it a glacial pace. If you want to see a mount it shouldn't cost too much to ship one back and forth. I bet you can duplicate it and have it back here before I really need it. Hit me up in IM if you are interested.

I forgot to give James his due. X2 on the documentation and pictures... the Fox has been cake compared to the Ranger from what I see, but I miss the things like the home-made cal tracs.

BBR is the hack-perfectionist I aspire to be some day. Don't like what they offer? Build your own. Don't have one for your car? Build your own. Don't like their price tag? Build your own... but the stuff is immaculate, even the crap you can't see. It's inspirational.

Enough nut swinging, lol. I have crap to do.

            haha "hack-perfectionist" ... I like that.

If necessity is the mother of invention.... then cheapness certainly has to be the father.

I once gave up lint for lent and it changed my life.

In other news, a nice shiny billet pulley just landed on my desk courtesy of UPS. Almost too pretty to bolt on. Unfortunately, I will have absolutely zero time this weekend to put it on.

It's called "positional displacement". As in: my position will be displaced x number of hundred miles from said car and pulley.

Have you considered driving the car X number of hundreds of miles to offset an unfavorable "positional displacement"?

Of course, it has yet to be highway proven..... zing!

Driving said car x number of miles to offset the unfavorable "positional displacement" would result in an unfavorable "positional displacement" of where I sleep, I'm afraid. Not to mention I do not have a ski rack that will fit it.

These are the stock 71 style block mounts. Note they are asymetric, by swapping side to side you get almost an inch of engine set back. Hilarity ensues when you have to rework headers.

This is my home made frame mount which uses the stock rubber sandwich motor mount. The white lines show the orginal position and shape. The net is I could drop the engne down and inch and move it back almost another full inch. Fortunatly I did all thses things at the same time so I only reworked the headers once. Then built a new set for the A -460 heads.

If I end up going Fox I will likely go with an Afco k-member and fabricate from there unless the subject vehicle already has one.

Oddly enough a big benefit of the BBC exhaust port flange on the A-460 head is that headers are off the shelf, with more choices of tube size etc. for BBC/Fox combinations and cheaper than BBF/Fox headers.

Also had to do this: make lower cross member removable and offset.
