If you want to go for a track record in the Production Pickup (C/PP) class, you must have in place all safety equipment for the speed you expect to go (or the record speed, whichever is higher).
If you run in Time Only(/TO), you will only need a Snell M2005 or SA2005 helmet (we can get you a loaner), long sleeve shirt, long pants and a 3-point seat restraint (factory lap/shoulder belt is fine).
time only is sufficient for me, baby steps, just large baby steps. lol. i just wanna see what it can do. and my factory speedo only goes to uhhhh. 100 i think. will my gps be sufficient to keep me under my max speed? sorry for so many questions, but a fella has gotta know
A good GPS is usually more accurate than a factory speedometer.
They also give you a 5mph buffer.
Your first rookie pass will be limited to 125 mph, so you can go up to 129.999999 mph without getting into trouble.
If you do 130 mph, you will be going for a ride in Keith Turk's truck - which you do NOT want to do !!!
Go ahead and ask questions, it is the only way to learn ...
