package size and weight both matter.

I recently shipped the FE stroker kit and Chevy inline 6 headers to Randal - crank was just over 70lb... ~$50 Fedex ground.

The Headers were in a big box (the box the falcon strut tower brace came in), with the connecting rods - only 40lb, but the box was big - just shy of $50 Fedex Ground.

Dimension weight is a screwy thing. One inch over and even a 10# box can be charged oversize rate.

The rest of the drivetrain is ready. The 904 was rebuilt and kitted, the rear was behind the Diplomat, so it's ready.

Depending on what other parts are required, $1340 may not be that hard to swallow to go from 318 to 390.....

You might be able to piece a stroker kit cheaper than that. That was just the first link I found and I have dealt with campbell before. Very easy to work with.

I think it'd be hard to beat that $1300 price with forged pistons. Can't seem to find a hyper piston for that application.

I don't know a thing about mopars - what's the difference between 318/340/360?

Can't ya just get a 360 from a modern pick up?

360 are external balance and larger mains

318/340 internal balance and share main size.

To make it more confusing, the Magnum 360 and LA360 have different balance factors.

but shoving in a magnum 360 is not that hard to do

also the magnum 360/318 have stud mounted rockers wile the LA 360/318/340 have shaft mounted rockers
