    Bonneville World Finals 2009

Well the end of the salt racing season is here. I just got back from Bonneville and the SCTA World of Speed. And what a world of speed it was. We had a 400 mph exit speed for a streamliner running on gasoline WITH carburetors and a 200 shot of N2O. There was "fast Freddy" Daeinfeltzer 376 mph average with a 386 :o terminal speed! I was crewing for Seth Hammond (his lakester was featured in Hot Rod about two issues ago) his wife Tanis drove to two records the first being 301 then we bumped it to 311 mph! It was a great event and a great year.
I know some of the SCTA volunteers cruse this site so I would like to give them a big THANKS for all that they do to put these events on for us to run WOT for 5 miles!

Below I've posted a couple of pictures, you can never take enough but you get a hint of what it was like.

    Sunrise on the #77 lakester.

Charles Nearburg went 390 mph with a exit speed of 402 mph!

Dave MacDonald made 3 runs in one day all over 300 mph!!

    A little belly tank.....

    Tanis in the "shoe" position.

The #77 lakester, front & rear.

And the end of a great salt season............. :'(

There are very few people in this world who's opinion I value, you are not one of them.

it's an unblown mountain motor with lots of nitrous. Very well built firebird and the 2nd fastest door slammer in the world. It is the fastest unblown car on the planet. ;D
