    Some Real Land Speed News

George Poteet driving Ron Mains 'Lil Demon streamliner ran 435 MPH :o this morning (09-21-09) at the Bonneville Salt Flats during a Private FIA meet held by Mike Cook. This was with a 299" (less than 5 liters) engine. Unfortunately they hurt the engine and were unable to make the required return run to set a record.
The existing record is 365 mph held by the Hoffman & Markley streamliner.

When did the record get bumped up to 365? It wasn't long ago that they were running on a 315 record.

It's an FIA record not an SCTA one.
