Ok, this isnt really tech, but i need to take off the stock (22 years old) stickers on my hood of my jeep. What is the best (cheapest) way to do that at home?

snap on , mac . matco makes a decal buffer that doesn't hurt the paint
or you could try the old heat gun

Just got it home from the shop today, so i can't use air tools now. Im thinking heat, but want to know if there are better ways.

And it doesn't matter if i hurt the paint....

before you take those off - keep in mind that you'll still be able to clearly read "wrangler" because the paint under the decals didn't fade like the paint on the jeep.... and heat gun/razor blade is the best way I know of.

You can get an eraser wheel from Napa and it will work fine in a regular electric drill. It will take it off without hurting the paint and without a lot of effort. IIRC they're about $25-looks like a 4" round gum eraser with an arbor in it.

i use a heat gun and an old credit card or ATM card...you will see WRANGLER clearly and it will look like ass....

I used to work at a graphics shop and we used a heat gun most of the time. We only used a razor when we had no other choice for fear of cutting into the paint. The buffers work sometimes but most of the time they just make a mess.

a hair drier has always worked for me and my friends. if youre careful you can usually take them off in one piece

Like i said, im not worried about ruining the paint or anything because its not going to be red much longer. I just want to get them off as easily as possible.

Hair drier and a credit card, followed by Goo Gone, generally work for me.

go to your local body shop surply ..
and get a can of 3M adhesive remover..
in the shade. at dusk. with the hood cool.
spray the live'n sh it out of it..
with a razor(after the time on can)
lift a corner.. it'll peel off like butter

I'll have to see if I can find that stuff - the '69 mach1 is FULL of stickers that all have to come off....

every body shop surply ..(if they sell paint they sell this)
it's saved alot of side moldings that the insurance co. payed for new..
as you can't always use the rubber wheel to remove the double sided tape..
