Re: What route do you want for a Power Tour?

Who said the event only needs to be in one place?
Why not run an event that has a West coast "Pacific Highway" type run,
... while at the same time the East Coast is on the "Maine to Florida" trip.
Or even separate it by a week and the long haul would be an increadible round country trip?
      The implications are staggering ...
      :o

That's cool. Is it better than one cross-country drive like the old days?

Dude, these are the new days.

Due to popularity, crowds become an issue.
Also, the big vendors usually have to travel to and set-up at each site.
With most of us, the trip and meeting the people is the adventure, so ...

With a "dualie" event, you could keep the crowds down during the run,
Vendors would only need to set-up once at the weekend big party town,
Participants get to travel with 'their coast' buddies to a central place
and meet up with their 'other coast' friends and enjoy a weekend car show, vendor booths and maybe even a swap meet, dyno drag, ralley coarse, etc.

                ... still thinkin; ...

Being that I think that Dave is talking about a Carjunkietv tour. Being that it is new organization and that there are fewer people that would now, a cross country trek might be possible with a few hundred then lets say 2000 -3500 cars not people.

                    Try this for size....

Day 1 ends at mission raceway BC - the air here in the spring is -500' on occasion and was where the first stock eliminator went in 9's.

Day 2, cruise to the columbia ice fields - take a tour on the glacier - I know its not car stuff but really cool., drive to Radium hot springs - spend the evening relaxing in the natural hot pools.

Day 3, Cruise to Calgary, optionally stop and Race at the local dragstrip or continue onto Leithbridge if the summer nights weekend is on cruise main street with open headers and make some smoke - its all cool.

Day 4 cruise to Sandpoint ID. Uber cool area.

Day 5 cruise to Boise ID and then onto Wendover. MAybe via salt lake city

                    Day 6 Cruise to Reno.

The "meet in the middle" concept is pretty cool. Lincoln, Kansas City, and Denver are cities somewhere near the center of the country.
The only thing I didn't like about PT was that the venues got to be a lot of the same old by the end of the week. Cruising to a location and staying put for a couple days before heading home would be great, if there were things to do at the event other than looking at each other's craftsmanship and money. Things like racing.

Start in Phoenix and work the tour north ending up in Washington. If you check the weather during that time of year (June) the temps are nice especially the further north you go. Rain is substantially less than the east coast or midwest areas. It's close enough to California but just far enough away that nobody can complain about Cali getting all the tours. I'll do a pre run if need be!

Bought my T-bird at the Massa Auto Pawn in Pueblo, CO. Didn't realize until I went to pick up the car that Hwy 50 is a direct route from Puelbo to Ely. They have a track??
                            Escaped on a technicality.

1/4 mile and a 2 mile long road course.

Of coarse DF is talkin' a CarJunkieTV tour and that is why he can do something "different".
Also, the word is gettin' out ...
We all may be a little surprised on participant numbers, by the time CJTV is up and running and the first tour is planned and announced.
