won't happen - not enough money in it, especially since the vendors can't be in both places at the same time.

If I get my way, I'll have another sponsor for this kind of event. However thats a few years and a big if in the making.

Let me add - no way will Family Events do it. Now with the effort Doug is putting into the WST, it could grow and maybe as an event sponsored by CarjunkieTV.com it could get sponsors and become a bigger event. I just don't think since Family Events is located in Indiana that they care what happens on the west coast. Who knows, maybe next year we shoot up the coast to Oregon or further and see the scenery up there?? If it is a different time than the Power Tour like it is this year, sponsors might be found. But the attraction of this kind of event is the drive, not the venue. Hitting some key spots like Shelby is icing on the cake.

          leon,where you been?

Let me try to attempt to understand something? WHAT DO THE SPONSORS BRING TO THE TOUR???

I PAID A REGISTRATION FEE which allowed me entry to see all the sponsors; and park as far away fromthe festivities,as possible!... what did the sponsors do to help the long haulers.
i paid for gas, meals, and motel rooms! ( sponsors ) well if you call a meal 1 cold hotdog and small bag of chips a meal???( J.C.WHITNEY) THATS AFTER WAITING IN TRAFFIC FOR AN HOUR TO GO 4 MILES TO GET THERE!

I have to give the others their due..... we had good meals in MILWAUKEE, INDY, AND NASHVILLE! SO ALL IS NOT BAD!

I JUST DONT GET THE IMPORTANCE OF SPONSORSHIP on these things......thats probably why; they have turned into
          CORPORATE SIDESHOWS!
Please, someone explain the sponsorship importance as it relates to the long hauler?

Re: What route do you want for a Power Tour?

We have had some good meals and entertainment from sponsors. Is it the reason I go on these things? NO. But a few decent sponsors help make a run better. It doesn't have to be their sales team setting up everywhere we park. A good example is the tour Doug has set up with Shelby. It's probably costing him something to have the group of us come through there. I don't care if we get a free glass of water, having someone open the doors to us and let us see what's happening is great. There are a lot of hot rod shops out west that could be toured. Just before the Roadster Show a couple months ago, we stopped by the Slow Crow Speed shop in Burbank and got to see some real neat stuff. They're into hot rods, land speed racing, pedal cars, etc. Real good stop before the show in Pomona. That's more of what I'm reffering to as "sponsors".

Nothing against Wisconsin, in fact Racine was the most beautiful venue on PT last year. But come on, Wisconsin 4 times in the last 5 years. Why not just have the Wisconsin Power Tour, that way you won't even have to leave your home state. For us it will be an 800+ mile drive home after this years tour. How far for you?

Re: What route do you want for a Power Tour?

How about a tour through Buffalo into Toronto and back.

Oh boy, another country - everyone would need a passport - Oh right, the passport is needed by you guys to get back into the US. You dont really need passports to get into Canada, just rev the engine a little, promise to fill up for gas on the Canadian side, take a picture with a Mountie, and buy some maple syrup. ;D

OK no foreign countries - so how about New York State, Maine, Pennsylvania and the north east Coast.

Seriously - Madison, Wisconsin is 670 miles from home, but home to Little Rock is 1,150 miles.
Add the estimated PT distance from LR to Madison, and we will put on almost 2,800 miles. Wow that's almost 4,500 kilometres. Plus Canadian Beer for all the veterans - hmmmm I will need another vehicle to transport the beer!

We're not going to have all the east coasters whine about the mileage they've driven in the last few years? How about the west coast. Last time they were out here was 2001 and we drove to Detroit to start the tour! Last year was 6000 miles for us, so don't think you have it bad. This will be my last tour unless something changes!

That was the way home. Little Rock is the short end of the deal for us - it is only 1,024 to Shackleford.

Wisconsin has the most beer so we need to keep going back. I'm not sure but it could be the sponsors keep the registration cost down, or at least that may have been how it all started. There have been some very good ones like Lane Automotive's lunch stop, Edelbrock, Flowmaster, Cherry Bomb, and others. Sponsors saved us some money at Bratfest.

I forgot to talk about the route.
I would like CO, WY, AZ, UT, SD or ND, and MN. Or the MI upper peninsula. Maybe west coast.

I would like to head west outta wisconsin, through mn, take on the dakotas etc.... But who knows!!

UP then down through michigan would be cool also, but then it would prob just head south and stay in the mid country areas.

I'd love to see WI, MN, SD, WY, CO. It'd sure be nice to end the PT close to home instead of 1000+ miles away! :P
