had one, didn't like it. replaced it with a Scag Turf Tiger. 5 acres takes me about 3 hours, but that includes going around 200+ trees, 3 buildings, etc.
But I also have a cool 1970's Yanmar Diesel tractor that I had shipped over in a container... it has NONE of the US safety equipment, it's dangerous as can be. 4wd, 21hp, runs all day long on a gallon of fuel.

i've had several older ones in the past several years.
My ex's Dad sells Dienes Marty J's those things are bad - 6ft of mowing deck out front that tilts for easy cleaning / sharpening / greasing, and you can mow at about 7mph.... 20hp twin kohler.... I digress.
I've had a brand new Honda tractor - so quiet I could talk on the cell phone while mowing.
a $25 yard sale previously used as a uhaul mower honda - still starts with two pulls any day of the year
picked up a cub cadet with self propell and caster front wheels for $100 in the scratch and dent sale at HD.... had a bent crank! put a new blade and blade mount on it and traded it to a guy that REALLY wanted that caster wheel deck for a perfectly good Toro recycler that's just a few years old -- so far so good with that this season.
What I really want to do is fix up the old lawnboy I picked up a couple years ago for $40 - it runs but smokes like a BANSHEE -- must need a rebuild I guess - but that's my long term plan - super light, not much to break, can hant it on the wall between uses!
87 wheel horse 16 horse onan v twin was a stick but converted it over to hydro from another WH . It's on it's third deck. This winter I'm going to take the equipment off the two rusted out decks and build one really wide 86 or 88 inch wide deck. May morf it to rear steer with the deck out front. Man I sure would like one of them new fangled ZTR's .Oh well a country boy will survive !
4 year old Husky. My father-in-law has a Husky dealership and I got it at cost. Great mower, but have no use for it with the little yard I have here in OH. I have it set up for long term storage right now.
2 push mowers a craftsman and a Scotts. The scotts works better than the craftsman. My Tractor is a 79 Simplicity (made by Allis Chalmers) runs great and picks up the leaves in the bagger great in the fall.
that's pretty cool. they started off as an offshoot of a little fab/welding shop in Wisconsin in the early 1990s. They're heavy, but it's the only ZTR I ever saw that can go sideways across a 30 degree grade (my ditches)
Tried grasshopper, dixie chopper, jon deere and a Dixon (joke!) before I found one that'd do the hills. The Kohler engines leave a lot to be desired though, IMO.

he has chem lawn franchise in hartford now
1969 wheelie horse Raider 10. 10 kohler horses and 6 forward gears of pure power.
My neighbor has a new x-mark zero turn but I would rather use mine! Its just friggan cool.
