There isn't a rule that the tour has to run through 4 states , on the west coast they could make it 4 or 5 coastal town,beaches with a few other things to see .
I think if they shorten the daily drives it allow more sight seeing of the area back roads and less of a need to rush.
This also help the vehicles not set up to run 65 to 80 mph go on the tour. When was the last time a stock 20s or 30s ,40s car tried it?
Heck even most muscle cars are not happy running 75 plus for long stretches .

There is SOOOOO much wrong with the tour nowadays! The shear size of the group has made the more enjoyable routes/drives unfeasible. PowerTour was suppose to be a
"drive your hot rod" not a "hang out in a parking lot" deal. In my opinion a 200 - 250 mile drive on back roads isn't too long of drive each day IF you came to play and not lounge around your hotel room. Then again, I am not much of a site-seer and yes my ride will cruise at 80+ all day long but clearly prefer the back roads to freeways. We usually drive more than our share of freeway getting to and from the event.

Folks that liked the idea of Drag Week but not its locations came up with Rocky Mountain Race Week. Sounds like you guys are on the verge of a Power Tour West scenario.

If you use trim adhesive as gasket material, you should be charged an hour labor to remove that stuff AND the cost of a wire wheel. If this souunds familiar, you might should stay away from me for a while.

Folks that liked the idea of Drag Week but not its locations came up with Rocky Mountain Race Week. Sounds like you guys are on the verge of a Power Tour West scenario.

We started doing SMALL group trips. The first one was Deadwood, then Key West, then Louisiana and next is Michigan (see the Mitten thread). So far it has been 10 - 12 cars and 15 - 20 people. Has been great fun. We would like to do a west coast trip - Hot August Nights, PCH ... BUT we live in Florida so it is quite a jaunt to get out to the Pacific Northwest.
