As I mentioned on here, I was on my way to Buffalo to pick up my new engine (from Jays67) for the Buzz Bomb. Slight change in plans. My best friend, Jim Shears, died last night. He had FINALLY taken off a lot of weight (he'd been heavy - REALLY heavy - all his life) and he was feeling well and happy. We talked at length yesterday and I hung up feeling really good that he had turned a corner. So I'll be headed to Ann Arbor first, then on to Buffalo.
Jim was not really a car guy but we did some projects together and had a lot of fun. He was the guy with whom I went to 7 Stevie Ray Vaughn concerts. I was his best man and there are some great stories about that. I got to watch him grow and learn and become a better person. I'll miss him.
Call your friends. Get together if you possibly can. You really don't know how long you'll have together. Please send prayers/Positive Energy for his widow, Karen. She's one of the best and will need support as she navigates this new chapter of her life.
Thanks all
Dan
