    just in case you forgot

this picture says a million things to me.....
dont you wonder where all the flags are now, remember there was a flag on every house after 9-11.
whether you agree with past our current leadership , what ever happened to patriotism .

Re: just in case you forgot

I took a ride this weekend with a friend who - for the moment - has two harleys.
The 4 of us took a nice ride out in the country southwest of the motor city, he has two flags on the back of his hard bags on his dresser. I noticed how many folks out in the country had flags on the front porch. I have several flags on the walls of my office at work.... I think I'll buy another one to put up in the shop, and I think I'll fly one from the boat house this year too.

patriotism lives for sure - it's just not in the face of the oh so fickle mainstream media anymore.
There's always something new to learn.

I had to take mine down for winter but it's going back up as soon as it stops raining.

Need to remember to get a new one - wind tore up the pole and wore out the old flag.

Not forgotten here! Old Glory goes back up as soon as the house gets painted. It does make me sick how the majority of people have forgotten.

Patriotism- still have it, more than ever. On a side note of the flags, does it bother anyone else to see all the magnetic flags and ribbons people stick to their cars? I haven't ever seen one made in the USA! Tells alot about the person. What a gimmick. End rant

Here is something that pissed me off.
My buddies son got sent home from school for wearing an American flag patch on one of his shirts !

Apparently, it is not politically correct to wear a flag on clothes, because it may offend someone.

I don't know about you all, but that offends me !!

BTW - a girl was allowed to wear a top with the Stars ' Bars and didn't get sent home.
                    Sheesh !!!

I bought my first house in 1985. And have displayed our flag every day on every house I've owned since.

Edit: BTW, just this morning I was walking from my office to a local haunt to grab some breakfast. I see scrawled on a wall of a building: "9/11/01... Ha, Ha, Ha." I just about fell over. I'd like to find the little ass punk who wrote that, and bloody his nose on it!
                      Nitrous, baby!!...

Jana flies one at her house frequently, but it's in the wrong location and in the wrong position of the house. It kind of upsets me sometimes.

Dad has his mounted correctly and has a light on it. Yay Dad!

Flag code Section 8d. reads, "The flag should never be used as wearing apparel"

It's amazing how many Flag code violations you will see on any give day.
                          Exactly.

Flag waving is just that, flag waving. Patriotic is what you do everyday, in your life and how it affects those around you... Waving a flag, especially when done wrong is just plain insulting to our country, our military and those that do on a daily basis to give the red, white and blue the integrity it deserves.

What upsets me is that for every 'patriot' that brings up 9/11, there is a good chance that they were never there, did not experience any type of loss... (yes we are talking in generalities, so what?)

Never forget? Hard to do when you lose friends and loved ones and then spend time down there watching others fall from the weight of all the destruction surrounding you... I still get a sick feeling when I go downtown... I really don't care what they build on that site. As the only thing I can remember is the stench and horrible sight that was what was left of those building and the area...

Bnjny, You sir are correct. I was there shortly after and I admit I cried. It discust me that the footage cannot be shown on TV for feel of Upsetting us. Damnit, we should be upset.
On a side note , at our car club meetings, in a old one room school house, we start EVERY meeting with the pledge of allegiance. And everybody takes off the hats , hands on heart and speaks up...Loud and Proud.

Back in 1969,my Father was a Truck Driver for ACME Markets(He was with them from 1963-2003...),while in New York,He stopped 'an took a look at the yet unfinished Towers,He was impressed. But,the area in which the WTC Complex was built was formally a thriving,Jewish shopping district, people bitched, complained, you name it...still,the project went through. When the Towers were finally finished, they were plauged with all sorts of problems throughout most of their existence. Blackouts,Elevator accidents/breakdowns,electrical fires,Water Pipes bursting, the lists go on & on. As recently as 1995 only 77% of the avaliable Floor space was actually leased out to tenets. The Towers themselves were actually 'White Elephants.' In short, the Towers themselves were a Money loser. ~J/W-OO6.
